Africa’s decentralized finance platform, Mara, announced the release of a testnet for Mara Chain, an Ethereum-compatible layer 2 network using MARA tokens for fees. Nigerian and African developers can build and test decentralized apps on the Optimism forked Mara Chain, which promises fast transactions, low fees, and interoperability.
