The creator of Bitcoin Ordinals has proposed a new Bitcoin-based fungible token protocol as an alternative to the BRC-20 standard. BRC-20 tokens, which use the Ordinals protocol, have caused issues by cluttering Bitcoin with unnecessary Unspent Transaction Outputs (UTXOs).
