Stablecoin issuer Circle has joined forces with Latin American fintech giant MercadoPago to introduce USDC in Chile. MercadoPago’s mobile app will facilitate USDC transactions for as little as $0.05. With over 64 million users, MercadoPago is the financial arm of e-commerce giant Mercado Libre, often dubbed the “Amazon of Latin America.” This move aligns with Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire’s statement that 70% of USDC adoption is global.
