The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has chosen Ripple Labs as its official technology partner to develop the digital lari, the central bank’s digital currency (CBDC). The partnership involves launching a pilot initiative on the Ripple CBDC Platform to assess the digital lari’s potential benefits for the government, enterprises, and retail users. Ripple was selected after a rigorous evaluation process, and this partnership follows its involvement in similar CBDC projects, such as with Colombia’s central bank.
