Celebrating its 50th anniversary, UAE’s Central Bank marked a milestone as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of CBUAE, conducted the first CBDC cross-border payment to China using the Mbridge Blockchain platform. A Dh500 million transaction was sent through the ‘BIS M Bridge’ platform DLT. The move follows collaboration with China’s People’s Bank, signaling a push towards global CBDC integration and regulatory frameworks.
