The MetisDAO Foundation has unveiled the Zero-knowledge rollup (ZKM), aiming to establish Ethereum as the universal settlement layer for both blockchain and non-blockchain applications. Combining Optimistic and Zero-Knowledge rollups, ZKM plans to enhance layer-2 networks like Metis and Optimism while expanding compatibility with other layer 1 chains.
